Medical Acne Treatments

Medical Acne Management

Clear skin starts with understanding the root cause. At Lunaris Medical Aesthetics and Wellness, our medical acne management services are designed to treat acne comprehensively—addressing hormonal, inflammatory, lifestyle, and skincare-related factors rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.

Our Approach

Acne can affect patients at any age and often requires a medical, individualized plan. All acne treatments at Lunaris begin with a thorough consultation and clinical assessment by a nurse practitioner. Treatment plans are tailored to your skin type, severity of acne, lifestyle factors, and medical history.

We focus on improving current breakouts, preventing future flares, and minimizing long-term skin damage such as scarring and hyperpigmentation.

Conditions We Treat
  • Hormonal acne (teen and adult)
  • Inflammatory and cystic acne
  • Comedonal acne
  • Acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Acne related to stress, diet, or hormonal imbalance

Treatment Options May Include

Prescription & Medical Therapies

When appropriate, treatment plans may include prescription topical or oral therapies selected based on clinical assessment and patient needs.

VI Peel®

A medical-grade chemical peel used to support improvement in acne, acne scarring, uneven skin tone, and texture. VI Peel® treatments promote controlled exfoliation and cellular renewal while being suitable for a wide range of skin types.

PRX Derm Perfection® or Platelet Rich Plasma/PRP

A topical biostimulating treatment designed to enhance skin firmness, tone, and hydration without visible peeling. PRX Derm Perfection® supports dermal rejuvenation while preserving the outer skin layer and may be incorporated into acne and skin-repair protocols. PRP is derived from your own blood and requires a blood draw during visit to extract platelet rich plasma for injection or topical treatment.

Microneedling with SkinPen®

Microneedling may be used to support improvement in acne scarring, skin texture, and overall skin quality by stimulating collagen and elastin production.

What to Expect

Acne treatment is a process. Most patients require a series of treatments and consistent home care to achieve and maintain results. During your consultation, realistic expectations, treatment timelines, and aftercare will be discussed.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Medical acne management is appropriate for teens and adults struggling with persistent or recurrent acne, especially those who have not achieved results with over-the-counter products alone. A consultation is required to determine the safest and most effective treatment plan.
